Human Interference:

Human beings will often tamper with the diets of other species if economically advantageous. Corn and soy are products of considerable scientific manipulation and profit maximization. Salmon, cows, cats, and dogs would never eat these ingredients raw much less roasted, baked, or fried in the wild. Simply stated grains and other cooked foods are not biologically appropriate for dog companions.  Nature and the biological design of their bodies tell us; in fact, soy, corn, and wheat are the three most allergic ingredients for today’s dog or cat companions. Throughout the last century the pet food industry has been designing foods first for the benefit of paying caretakers by focusing on the cheapest, longest shelf life, and most convenient methods of feeding before considering the optimal health and nutrient needs of animal companions.

Animal companions for better or worse rely on caretakers to provide proper nourishment. Humans too may live by eating over-processed fast food, but who dares say this choice comes without a price? The cost for both humans and animal companions rests in quality of health and life. Some individuals may challenge this quality-of-life statement by pointing out how happy and healthy their animal companion is with their current processed food, but what are they comparing it to? How could dog companions know better, or do they? Again observing innate responses may provide another clue as to what canine companions truly require. Chasing and hunting other animals may be your animal companion’s instinctual way of proclaiming, “I crave variety pure, fresh, raw meat.”

Science & Nature:

In the timeless debate of science versus nature, think of Paw Naturaw’s diets as respectfully observing arguments of science but clearly sitting in nature’s corner. Nutrients, at least the kinds science is currently capable of identifying, are essential to the wellbeing of your companion animal. However, nutrients and their interactions with one another are not fully understood.
